One July morning an email came in from a Russian lady called Elvira, asking me to call her about organising a sunrise wedding in August. Not much time I thought!! Only one month to pull this together and in the busiest and hottest month of the year in Marbella!!

I have to say I was initially pretty relieved when Elvira explained that there would be just 20 guests attending the wedding and her dream was to have a sunrise ceremony on a beach. But then came the first problem…persuading a hair and make-up artist to start work at 4am to get Elvira ready for those all-important sunrise photos on the beach! Happily, the wonderful Anita and Tracy from Marbella Hair and Make-up, rose to the occasion and agreed to take the job on. All we needed was a great photographer, as the photos were super important for this bride and groom. Stepping up for the early morning challenge was Radka Horgath, who was totally game for the early morning, in fact she was positively bubbling over with excitement as she said the rising sun gave such magical light and it was rare to have the opportunity to photograph a bride and groom at sunrise.

We selected Dantonelas Beach Club for Elvira and Vadim’s venue – the bride and groom really had to trust us as they would not see their venue until the day before the wedding! Working from photos of the bride’s dream ceremony decoration, Deseos Florists created a dreamy, romantic soft pink wedding pergola.

Following the ceremony, which Celebrant Antonio Sanchez conducted in Russian, the sun rose over the beach club. We arranged a sumptuous wedding breakfast in the garden overlooking the sea. After breakfast, the entire group changed in to swimwear and enjoyed a lovely day at the beach club, relaxing on VIP beds, swimming and of course enjoying champagne!

We really loved this wedding; because of the hour, the beach was deserted, the temperature was perfect and it was totally peaceful and private – incredible considering it was August on the Costa del Sol!

Elvira was a truly beautiful bride in her stunning dress. The morning was full of love and laughter, we were so happy to have been able to make this dream come true…and in record planning time too!!

Rupa contacted us just 4 months before her proposed wedding day, so the clock was really ticking as not only was time of the essence, but we also had to find her a venue that she felt confident enough to book without being able to come and see it!! As this was a “ mixed Asian “marriage we were looking at a Henna party, a Sikh ceremony and a Blessing ceremony to be organised over 2 days + some pretty strict vegetarian /vegan menu requirements.

Well we love a challenge, a beach front venue was the preference, so we knew who to use immediately! the fabulous Guadalmina Beach Club near Puerto Banus. With a team of amazing chef’s, one who had 2 years training in Indian cuisine at a high level, we knew they could pull off the menu’s and boy did they succeed! Without exception the guests and bride and groom were amazed and delighted at the incredible variety, flavours and stunning presentations of the dishes!

Our best supplier’s railed around, the fabulous hair and make-up team of Barbie and Georgie really excelled themselves on the days, creating a stunning traditional Indian look for the bride and bridesmaids for the Sikh ceremony, then recreating another look for the beach front Blessing later in the day .

The Henna Party was a fun evening, held on a private terrace and restaurant at the Guadalmina Golf Club, guests enjoying the traditional Henna hand painting and some wonderful Indian food.

Rupa and Vinay we thank you for the enormous amount of trust you put in us, we enjoyed every moment of being involved with your wedding, it was incredible fun  all the way along.

“Thank you so much ladies. The best wedding experience I have ever had , and I am a planner myself ! So professional and prompt with everything! You made out dreams come true x Rupa Parmar “

“As parents of the bride we thank both Karen and Wendy for the amazing experience and clockwork operation for the 2 days celebrations. Thank you ladies- Nanji Patel”

Beautiful Flora and I spoke a lot on Skype during the first 6 months of 2016, we were planning her wedding remotely, as she and her fiancé Jay live in Canada and most of their family were coming all the way from China to help them celebrate their marriage. The brief was a romantic beach that was private and an intimate, private venue for their celebration’s, where they could all stay for a few days to enjoy the family reunion as well as the wedding.

We suggested Milla de Plata, a charming 10 bedroom hotel that sits on a hilltop overlooking the ocean. The hotel has steps leading to a very pretty little beach cove, perfect for the privacy they were after.

Slightly on tenterhooks until Flora and Jay actually arrived in Spain, but they fell in love with Milla de Plata on sight, so all was well.

The combination of Chinese wedding traditions and the European Blessing, gave Flora the chance to shine in 2 stunning wedding dresses – one red and one white !! It was a joyous and happy day for the bride and groom and their families … and of course the weather was amazing for this June bride.

“ Dear Marbella Marriages Jay and I can’t thank you more for what you did to make our big day perfect! It is as what I dreamed about and you made it even better! You all are my extended family now:)! Just want to thank you again for everything, and we love you all!   Flora & Jay “

Laura and Adam chose to have their civil marriage in Gibraltar followed by a Blessing ceremony and reception in Spain – Gibraltar has a history of famous civil marriages , Yoko Ono and John Lennon & Sir Sean Connery to name a couple, so they were in good company.

We arranged for the registrar to come to the fabulous Sunborn floating hotel, located in the Gibraltar harbour. The wheelhouse deck was the setting for the marriage ceremony, and what a backdrop that was ! 20 of Laura and Adam’s immediate family came to witness their marriage. After a few drinks and canapés on the top deck, private shuttles whisked them off to enjoy a special lunch at the luxurious Trocadero Sotogrande beach club.

2 days later, the 2nd Big day arrived! Laura and her bridesmaids enjoys a couple of bottles of champagne in her luxury suite at the Vinnicci hotel near Nikki Beach, whilst her hair and makeup team got to work and our team got to work at Estrella del Mar beach club, constructing a wedding pergola overlooking the sea, and transforming the beach club’s restaurant into a contemporary nightclub for the evening party.

Laura looked stunning, Adam looked handsome and the guests partied until very late, it was a very special week, and we loved being a part of it!

“Hi Karen , thank you so much for an incredible wedding. It was the most amazing day and everyone has said how fantastic it was and how well organised – thanks to you all. I can’t belive it is all over – I cannot wait to see the photos. Again, thanks so so much for everything. Laura and Adam xx “
